simple hope

Hope is faith holding out it’s hand in the dark ~George Iles

Love the moment. Flowers grow out of dark moments. Therefore, each moment is vital. It affects the whole. Life is a succession of such moments and to live each, is to succeed.~ corita king

I struggle with how much personal information to share on this – my photography blog. Then I wonder how much more personal can I get? Every photo I take every click of my shutter has some meaning to me.

Two families I know have important dates coming up and they are on my mind and sometimes heavy on my heart. My own family has had a moment that stopped us all in our tracks. Out of all that? Hope is what we have.

quite possibly the cutest crayons ever

While shopping online for my own little one for a new elephant t-shirt I ended up at my dear friend Jen's site Bee Bee Mod. One of her featured items are crayon rocks. Ahhhhdorable! Perfect for Easter baskets & little hands. So perfect I could not resist posting about them.

and Ms. Jen is a fabulous photographer as well - look at this lovely shot of the aforementioned crayon rocks - love the color!

March is here!

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. ~Charles Dickens

We will just pretend it did not snow overnight!

In like a lion

Hopefully out like a lamb.

Spring is on the horizon so I thought I would share a recent photo in anticipation.

I love spring and can’t wait to start shooting some of these sweet children in fun spring outfits and little hand smocked dresses.

the party and more

It’s been an eventful week around here!

My older daughter had a “little” accident and my younger daughter had a birthday party! As you can see we had fun with our Secret Garden theme.

My sister came up to decorate my kitchen for the party. She’s amazing – she had painted that canvas as one of my daughters gifts!

You will have to excuse the quality of the car photo – it was taken with my cell phone as I was so unnerved by having to see the car again that I forgot my camera.

Thanks for visiting – and remember wear your seatbelt they really save lives. My daughter & her passenger both walked away from this with a tiny scratch each. The car was not so lucky but it did it’s job!

Before you know it

it will be Valentine's Day!

I will be offering to my clients press printed 4x5 flat cards - the perfect size for class cards! I just got my daughter's in and they are gorgeous! Something else that would be fantastic for the class - custom bookmarks ( shh we are getting those too).

The cards pictured here are just a few that I offer so if you would prefer something else let me know and I can get your custom creation going!

These adorable cards are now available to all my clients who have had a session in the past year for 30.00 per pack of 25!! If you haven't had a session... what are you waiting for?!

little wonders

I took this shot last year. As I have said before ( well at least I think I have said it before) I sometimes shoot with certain songs in mind. This one gets that fabulous song by Rob Thomas _little wonders_ by Rob Thomas.

I wish I could say I was not a sap but I am - it also makes me think of my son.

He left for school today and it's been just a few hours. The house is quiet without him playing guitar.

let it go,
let it roll right off your shoulder
don't you know
the hardest part is over
let it in,
let your clarity define you
in the end
we will only just remember how it feels

our lives are made
in these small hours
these little wonders,
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away,
but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

let it slide,
let your troubles fall behind you
let it shine
until you feel it all around you
and i don't mind
if it's me you need to turn to
we’ll get by,
it's the heart that really matters in the end
